The Future Hopes lineup, which as always is a loose constellation of musicians with multi-instrumentalists Jacob Holm-Lupo and Mattias Olsson at the core, sees the return of several WHITE WILLOW stalwarts, including flautist Ketil Einarsen (Jaga Jazzist, Motorpsycho), keyboardist Lars Fredrik Frøislie (Wobbler, Tusmørke), and bassist Ellen Andrea Wang (Pixel, Manu Katché Quartet).
White Willow sought on this album a separate path between melancholic prog, Nordic folk, hard rock and the music of light Gothic bands. Already on their the predecessor Terminal Twilight they massively put on analogue vintage sounds and offered more instrumental free space, which on Future Hopes .
White Willow is a Norwegian art rock band, mixing elements of orchestral pop, s progressive rock, jazz-rock and even electronic elements. They have released 6 albums so far: 's Ignis Fatuus, which features symphonic folk rock in the vein of early King Crimson and Genesis as well as Mellow Candle; 's Ex Tenebris, which is minimalist prog/post-rock; 's Sacrament, a full-blown.
The band's new vocalist is Norwegian pop sensation Venke Knutson. The album includes guest appearances by Hedvig Mollestad and David Krakauer. Formed in Oslo in /93, White Willow has built a reputation over the years as a diverse, subtle, progressively-focused group, their albums always critically acclaimed and revered as influential/5(2).
